Have laptops instead of desktops os desktops use 80% more electricity
reduce the amount of heat! obviously keep it warm in the winter but turn it off in the summer. shut off lights that are not needed! we have more sunlight now that its coming into summer!
Work in the dark
Look into using solar panels. they can heat and cool the office as well as run office equipment. As an added bonus in many communities solar panel owners can sell the extra energy obtained back to the electric company or government for a profit.
If your office closes about the same time every day, consider connecting the lights to a timer which shuts them off about an hour after normal quitting time. Turn the theromostats up to about 72 degrees in Summer, and down to about 76 degrees in Winter ( just make sure you tell your employees you're going to do this so they can dress appropriately! ). have an electrician check all the equipment your business uses to see which machines/devices are using the most electricity; ask the electrician what you can do to reduce their energy consumption. put in more energy efficient air conditioners, heaters, machines, etc. ( This has be analyzed for cost-effectiveness to prevent spending more money than is justified by any energy savings. )
